Life = Fail, Diet = Epic Fail

So... eating well did not end well. I'm trying again, but I think I need to be more focused and gradual with my food substitutions. To start with, I am going to phase into a dairy-free diet. Ok, except for cheese. I don't eat it very often, and there really is no good substitute for it yet. Cutting dairy out at home is a lot easier than trying to cut out meat, all animal products, or eat raw foods consistently. Especially since I have a sneaking suspicion I'm becoming lactose intolerant. At the very least, I have some sort of milk allergy. The easy substitute is to move to soy. Soy milk, soy yogurt, etc, but soy is very mucous forming and is not all that healthy when it is overly processed. Plus, Chris is allergic to it.

So far, I have milk substitutes, yogurt substitutes, and ice cream substitutes. I guess this will mean butter and sour cream eventually... hmm. I'll have to work on that.

Rice Dream Vanilla Milk is good with cereal.

So Delicious Cultured Coconut Milk Yogurt is okay... I ate the whole cup, but I did have to mix it with dry healthy cereal. I'm not a huge yogurt fan.

Rice Dream ice cream is okay, too, but you do have to let it warm up a bit to be creamy.

So Delicious Coconut Milk Chocolate Ice Cream is fantastic. Unlike the yogurt, it does have a slight coconut taste, but I like coconut so whatever.

Awesome recipe: So Delicious Coconut Milk Chocolate Ice Cream, Silk Chocolate Soy Milk, and a frozen banana (chopped) makes an awesome dairy-free chocolate shake. Go me!
